Principal
Reading Challenge

I am completing my 23rd year at Creek Elementary as principal this 2017-2018 school year. As Creek principal, I enjoy working with students, staff, parents, and the community to make Creek one of the best schools in the district and the state. Creek continues to strive for high academic achievement yearly in the district with high expectations for all. Creek Elementary has a very hardworking, highly qualified staff, great students, and parents that support and expect a high level of academic achievement.  I thank our parents for sending their children to school ready to learn!

While principal at Creek, I have also worked with the staff in the development of the Creek Discovery Zone. The Creek Discovery Zone, including the garden, greenhouse, a wetland and wildlife habitat.  Teachers continue to develop new hands-on activities and lessons that include the outdoor classroom.  Creek has also received two Jimmie Johnson Foundation Champion Grants for improvement to our school, with the latest grant, to improve student fitness with outdoor fitness stations and an area with a shade pavilion to give students a place to cool down after working out or walking on the track.

I continue to encourage teachers to challenge their students daily with hands-on activities with higher level thinking skills that include the S.T.R.E.A.M themes we have developed at Creek around space and the following:
